About

How do we know whether someone needs help or not?

When we think about depression, we always imagine those who always look sad and downtrodden-- those who are very clearly down in the dumps for an extended period of time. But what if that person was someone you looked up to? Someone who looked invincible? Someone who was constantly able to hold up against all the challenges that faced them, no matter how grueling it may be?

It's not often spoken about, but many seemingly successful and fulfilled people suffer from depression that goes undetected due to the social stigma surrounding it. There is always a desire to be "strong" and a belief that you cannot ask for help from anyone outside of yourself. These types of people often hide it and obscure it as much as they possibly can, and thus they blend in and perhaps even excel in their environments despite hurting in silence.

The "Drawn Face" project aims to bring awareness to this: depression within high-performing individuals and the stigma surrounding it.

With their perfectly "drawn face," they destroy themselves while appearing just like everybody else.

But it doesn't have to be that way.

Do you ever feel like you've lost your face too?

We don't want the people we care about to be burdened with our issues. Therefore, seeking help or talking about it can be difficult- especially when you seem to be doing perfectly fine on the surface. If you are in need of someone to talk to outside of your inner circle, please consider contacting one of the following:
